SYSTEMS ENGINEER

A national financial services organization is actively seeking an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in vulnerability management, packaging and deployment.
The Systems Engineer’s primary responsibility will be the vulnerability management of the server environment, including identification of vulnerabilities, scheduling of remediation, and performing patching of company assets.

You will be monitoring patching and sign off on business readiness of systems after updates as well as assisting with access control, recovery, and dashboard monitoring will be required.

This role is highly visible and requires excellent communication skills as you will have regular interaction with network security team on incoming threats.

The ideal candidate should have an aptitude for basic security practices.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform the installation, maintenance, and administration of the firm’s hybrid infrastructure platforms.

Monitor system availability and performance using industry standard tools. Triage events according to severity and impact on business operations and escalate more complex technical issues to senior Enterprise Systems staff.

Develop comprehensive documentation for installations and upgrades.

Perform assigned system-based project activities. Communicate project status and issues that may impede project success to project leader.

Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to senior staff and vendors when necessary.

Execute disaster recovery test activities.

Develop an understanding of and research industry trends that may affect system solutions. Share industry knowledge with team to enhance efficiency and performance.

Ensure all activities comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related subject matter required

2+ years of experience with Systems required

Experience with SCCM including Application Packaging

Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Qualys and Kenna

Experience with threat management

Knowledge of predominantly Windows and some Linux Operating Systems

Experience with Microsoft Orchestrator, Flexera, and PowerBI preferred

Detailed technical knowledge across industry standard platforms

Advanced comprehension of hybrid infrastructure environments, including cloud and HCI

Project management and prioritization skills

Ability to collaborate across multiple functions

Attention to detail and quality

Ability to convey technical knowledge to various audiences

Strong problem resolution skills

Previous experience working in a financial services environment nice to have
