Infrastructure Project Manager
Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the project management of large network service implementation projects.
This high-profile position will take part in all phases of large project implementation including Layer 3 networks, starting with Pre-Sales through design and implementation.
The core responsibility will be to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner with professional communications throughout the project lifecycle.
Job responsibilities include reviewing the documented requirements of the project, then creating and executing project work plans, as well as identifying resources needed for the project.
The project manager then manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project to ensure timely completion.
Documentation is required throughout the project, and the project manager meets with internal and external customers with prepared reports to give progress updates, answer questions and make requested changes of project plans.
Responsibilities
” Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
” Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in
collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
” Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
” Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
in a timely and clear fashion.
” Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
” Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other
stakeholders.
” Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
” Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
” Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
” Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
” Track project milestones and deliverables.
” Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and
devise contingency plans.
” Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties
throughout project life cycle.
” Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors,
and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned
work.
” Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Accountabilities with Expected Results:
Liaise with Sales, Provisioning and Network Planning to plan, track and complete customer and core infrastructure builds.
Provide logistics support to both Provisioning and Network planning for all customer and core installation.
Direct and track the various Engineering teams such as Customer Engineering, Projects, and Network Engineering and their deliverables
Communicate project timelines and status updates to customers in a timely manner.
Responsible for network optimization projects and internal migration initiatives
Position Specifications
Experience/Skills:
Telecommunications/Trader Voice experience required
3+ Years with IP based Market Data distribution platforms.
Working knowledge of Layer 3 networks
Proven successful project management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
MS Project, Word, Excel Skills required
Education:
BS or BA or from accredited university or equivalent
Project Management Certification a plus (PMP)
Infrastructure architect
Information Technology
