Job Description

A leader in the Telecommunications industry seeks a Product Support Engineer to support a Broadband Radio System product in their Ashburn, VA facility.

The primary duties of the Product Support Engineer include:

• Provides administration and operational/customer technical support for the CBRS system as part of the Tier II support team.

• Responsible for configuring, testing, and troubleshooting production telecom applications running on a Linux system in the AWS cloud.

• Coordinates with development team and customers to ensure that requirements from development are understood and implemented as expected.

• Interfaces with a ticket tracking system for issues escalated from Tier I support and creates new issues self-identified.

• Ability to support periodic "on-call” after hours support.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in an engineering, computer science or information technology discipline

• 5+ years of direct experience supporting wireless telecom related products

• Operational experience managing mission critical software applications deployed in an AWS cloud architecture

• Operational knowledge of cellular radio systems and/or enterprise Wi-Fi system including network architecture, hardware, spectrum management and operational support

• Experience troubleshooting applications running on Linux/AWS systems utilizing a variety of inputs including text log files, database queries, wireshark traces and customer input

• Expert level Linux/Unix command line

• Direct experience supporting AWS cloud-based systems and services

• Experience interoperability testing multi-vendor equipment and interfaces

• Ability to thrive in a constantly changing technical environment with shifting priorities

• Skill and drive to own and solve complex issues with minimal oversight

• Ability and desire to learn and apply new knowledge and engineering concepts as it relates to the business

• Experience creating customer facing documentation and training material.

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills sufficient for direct customer interaction
