Data Analytics Software Engineer

Our Client is a Financial Investment Firm and they are looking for a Data Analytics Software Engineer for their Lab Enviorment.

Description

The Data Analytics Software Engineer will work closely with IT Architect, Tech lead to design, develop, unit test and deploy applications.

This role will contribute to the project success by providing high quality data design, scalable and defect free code. This role is based in Durham, NC

Responsibilities

1. Strong AWS experience

2. Strong data experience data processing, databases (traditional and big data)

3. Good comprehension of the domains worked on and communication skills at the level of a Data Engineer

Implements solutions to complex data problems using big data, data virtualization and visualization techniques

Discovers opportunities to improve systems and processes

Generates reports for decision-making using data visualization and data mining tools

Leads innovation by applying data analysis skill sets to develop cutting edge solutions

Participates in the requirement analysis

Establishes and maintains collaboration with other internal teams to apply cloud and on-premise computing capabilities for data analytics

Develops key understanding of the relevant data domains

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related major plus a minimum of
five (5) years of applicable experience in data analytics or similar large-scale data
applications

Applicant must have experience with Java, Scala, and other industry standard ETL tools

Applicant must have experience configuring and setting up AWS Cloud services including
EC2, EMR clusters, RDS, etc.

Experience with Data Virtualization tools

Experience with CI/CD process and tools

Must be able to process, clean and verify the integrity of raw data.

Must be able to develop data applications without much supervision

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to think creatively through the problem-solving process

Ability to work and collaborate with other cross functional teams

Preferred

BS in engineering or 5 years of relevant experience in a technology field

Experience with data modelling techniques for complex systems and machine learning

Technical knowledge in some of the following: Python, Scala
