Job Description - Linux Systems Administrator

Thorough understanding of DNS resolution services, applications, and operational environments.

Ability to install, maintain, and configure production, staging, quality assurance, and development environments in order to support name resolution services.

Coordination with other technical staff to implement systems and software.

Perform daily operations support functions, including problem isolation and resolution.

Document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans.

Provide critical technical leadership in the areas of operational process and change management.

Interface with engineering and customer service organizations.

Regularly report progress to management.

At least 2+ years of experience administering mission-critical computing environments of 500+ nodes.

At least 2+ years of systems administration or related field.

Strong experience with Linux. FreeBSD knowledge is a plus.

Knowledge and experience with automated build systems and tools.

Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack

Experience with UNIX utilities and scripting (python, shell, etc.) along with a version control system like Git or Subversion.

Knowledge of networking principles including TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, routing, and network troubleshooting.

Comfortable working directly with developers and other engineering teams.

An understanding of DNS and BIND is desired a plus… but we'll teach everything you need to know!

BA/BS degree in an applicable discipline; or equivalent work experience.
