POWER BI DEVELOPER

North Dallas/Addison, TX

We are hiring a Business Intelligence Developer with strong Power BI experience for a growing Healthcare client! This position will require the ability to design prescriptive reporting solutions while also working hands-on in the database/backend data source to pull data using SQL to verify and test the visualizations.

The Business Intelligence Power BI Developer will work on a close-knit team that is building next-gen analytics that support our Client's products on its partners.

What You'll Do:

Design, implement, and maintain Dashboards, visualizations, and supporting data analysis layers.

Design and develop visualization solutions against data warehouses, data marts and cubes.

Coordinate with other team members and managers to translate business needs into technical solutions and provide technical assistance to users pulling data from our self-
service environment.

Troubleshoot issues in cubes and database objects (procedures – as they relate to surfacing data) to identify and solve problems with data accuracy and performance.

Help shape the direction of our next generation features and products for our Client's health partners.

Evaluate and monitor databases to resolve performance issues.

Develop, deploy, maintain and debug SSIS packages.

Develop, test and maintain MS SQL Server databases.

Work with Business Analysts to aid in the design of the system.

Investigate and resolve problems of data accuracy and availability

Participate in integral testing to identify problems early.

Perform error and stress scenarios.

Participate in design and code reviews.

Identify architectural issues and propose alternative solutions.

Install upgrades and patches to existing databases.

Develop and maintain data warehouse documentation.

Skills/Experience You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience.

Master's degree in a computer-related field is a plus.

5 years of experience with the following:

MS BI tools (SSRS, SSAS, Power BI)

Report development, data science, business analytics, business intelligence or comparable data engineering role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology

2+ years of experience in Power BI

Knowledge of SQL to write complex, highly-optimized queries across large volumes of data

Successful work experience in MS SQL programming, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning and writing stored procedures.

Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse concepts and processes

Experience with Tableau or an equivalent reporting tool to create impactful reports, visualizations, and interactive dashboards

Understanding of data models

Creativity to determine the best solution for a real-world problem with quantitative data

Experience supporting a multi-database environment.

Excellent understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems.

Knowledge of best practices and software development process
