Essential Functions

Perform full lifecycle of Business Intelligence (BI) development

Gather and define business requirements directly with internal customers and stakeholders

Identifies data sources, provides data flow diagrams and documents source to target mapping and process.

Collaborate with others on requirements specifications and documentation

Design and develop SQL for large complex ETL jobs and conduct related database troubleshooting and maintenance

Perform code reviews and unit and integration testing

Maintain the data warehouse performance by optimizing batch processing through parallelization, performance tuning etc.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable reports, dashboards, and metrics

Maintain the design and development standards for Business Intelligence (BI)

Lead and coordinate implementation activities

Provide guidance and mentoring to other developers

Keep current with Business Intelligence data trends and technological innovations

Execute on POC's with new technologies, drive innovation, and new ideas

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

4 Year College Degree; Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience

5+ years of direct experience using databases, including Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server

5+ years hands-on experience developing with SQL, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI, C#

Strong understanding data modeling (i.e. conceptual, logical and physical model design, experience with Operation Data Stores, Enterprise Data warehouses and Data Marts).

Strong experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices including multi-dimensional modelling (star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models, handling "slow-changing" dimensions)

Extensive experience developing and deploying reports, dashboards, and metrics using
Power BI, Tableau or Qlikview

Experience in creating Entity Relationship Diagram's using tools like Toad

Expert level understanding of Office Suite (including Access and Excel)

Strong work ethic and ability to work in a dynamic environment

Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly and self-directed

Ability to prioritize and multi-task across numerous work streams

Knowledge of modern development techniques: Agile (Scrum, Kanban)

Preferred Requirements of the Business Intelligence Developer:

Experience with AWS Cloud Services or equivalent

Experience with Python and JavaScript

Experience with automation using but not limited to Java, C#

Experience working Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Spark
