Director of Engineering

The team's focus is on consolidating legacy delivery systems into a single platform.

The elimination of legacy systems and standardization of delivery technologies will enable quicker times to market and lower costs of data delivery.

Responsibilities

Development

Design, build and maintain a high performance, high availability, high throughput yet nimble and adaptive bulk file delivery platform

Prioritize development projects and enhancements, lead key initiatives, drive architectural and technical evolution, develop and enforce SDLC practices, procure sponsorship/prioritization of new initiatives to improve product performance and competitiveness

Strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to teach and mentor. An optimal candidate would create be the type of senior technical lead that other developers compete to work with

Management

Coach, mentor and lead a diverse group of engineers, lead hiring efforts and drive a culture of excellence

Project Management

Track and manage multiple simultaneous development project, guide the team on effective effort estimation and risk management practices, manage expectations with stakeholders and client facing teams
Production Support

Experience developing and supporting mission critical systems.

Optimal candidates will have a track record of operational excellence in previous projects

Partner with operations teams on tool and procedures, provide intraday support and client inquiries

Coordination

This is a key role that requires frequent and effective cross-team interactions with product management, business, operations, regulation and legal teams

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

Experience with pricing, market, reference and corporate action data

10+ years' experience on data delivery systems using multiple technologies

Proven success record on migration of legacy systems to modern technology stacks

Strong knowledge of data management and data operations

Linux systems programming including memory management, concurrent programming infrastructure, and networking stack

10+ years' experience in Java development with strong experience in Spring

10+ years' experience in Oracle databases (SQL, PL/SQL, Exadata, SQLDR)

Familiarity with Kafka, Redis, Spark, Flume, and MQ
