Job Description

An e-commerce marketplace is taking its compliance program to the next level and bringing on new talent.

They are looking for a Regulatory Compliance Director reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer.

In this role you will work to help grow and enhance oversight in a manner that complies with financial services, payments, consumer protection and other regulations that apply to at a federal and state level.

You will deal with a diverse set of issues that combine financial services and technology.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting analysis and development of key controls (internal and external) and working effectively across cross-functional teams.
They will be able to quickly analyze and adapt in a start-up environment.

A background working with regulators and auditors is highly preferred.

What You Will Do:

Proactively track and advise on multiple regulatory requirements focused on marketing, consumer protection, financial and other e-commerce regulations (Reg E, Reg P, UDAAP, DMCA etc).

Be responsible for maintenance of GRC platform. Assist in analysis and continued assessment of comprehensive framework for regulatory compliance and risk pertaining to e-commerce.

Represent on a variety of regulatory topics before state and federal agencies, banking partners and other external audiences. FTC & CFPB a plus.

Work cross-functionally to identify, analyze and mitigate relevant issues related to the introduction of new products and services. Help to operationalize effective and adequate controls.

Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory rule changes.

Conduct due diligence on vendors, partners and IP rights claims.

Assist in development and delivery of training as needed for the Compliance Training Program.

Advise business / product / marketing on regulatory requirements.

Assist in the development of and updates to relevant policies and procedures.

Assist with periodic state and federal reporting required for MSBs.

What You Need to Have:

5-10 years of relevant corporate experience at a financial institution; MSB preferred

Experience in assessing regulatory landscape for evolving financial services policy requirements

Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with all levels of internal and external employees, audit, legal and executive engagement

Regulatory / Compliance Support: 5-10 years

Additional Considerations:

Experience with compliance and/or management at a financial institution, payments platform or money service business required

Experience working at start-ups, a plus

JD or MBA preferred

Six sigma experiences are highly desirable.
