Job Description

We are seeking a talented Senior Cloud Engineer to join its technology department working across.

Reporting to the Applications Director, must have a strong understanding of Cloud (Microsoft Azure) based distributed technologies, as well as High Performance Computing (HPC) principles.

Specific Responsibilities Include

Maintain existing analytics workloads on-premise and on Azure

Monitor and Manage batches and workloads using on-premise logs, telemetry, and, Azure
Application Insights, Log Analytics, and, Monitor.

Migrate existing on-premise workloads onto Azure

Work on a team to architect, develop, and deliver building blocks: Glue code, Scripts small code blocks, libraries to contribute to a self-service platform for workloads with an eye on economics: run-time and cost.

Develop and deploy on Azure

Interface directly with Quant Developers and business stakeholders, gathering feedback and helping in implementing building blocks from 2. Above.

Trouble-shoot new workload deployed on Azure by Quant Developers

Perform black-box support and debugging in test and production environments

Identify and escalate problems

Maintain and rerun jobs

Skills & Experience Required

5+ years of experience in: C#, SQL, Python, RDBMS, SQL.

2-3 years of experience maintaining large analytics workloads (500GB-1TB) architecting, managing, and running them on Azure platform, PowerShell, U-SQL, Git, Octopus Deploy.

2-3 years of experience in migrating large on-premise analytics workloads (500GB-1TB) onto Azure cloud-native distributed systems: containers, microservice and serverless architectures.

2-3 years of experience in developing Azure Functions for integrating Azure storage, IaaS, and PaaS services.

2-3 years of automation of build and deployment processes, continuous integration and application configuration management.

2-3 years of experience with Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Hub for streaming, HDInsight, Databricks.

2-3 years of experience deploying stateless and stateful applications on Azure Batch, VM Scale Sets, Service Fabric.

2-3 years of experience with large analytics workload management on Azure, minimizing data I/O bottlenecks, resolving dependencies, automating scheduling using event-based triggering, and, auto-scaling approaches.
