Position Summary:

The 3 month Contract Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, recording transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing financial statements ensuring accurate, timely and complete reporting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.

Responsible for all aspects of business registration filings.

Prepare and present financial statements for review as directed including variance analysis vs. budget and prior year

Communicate with vendors, clients, and tenants, including resolution of disputes, chargebacks and reconciling items.

Resolve accounting discrepancies in accurately and in a timely manner.

Maintain general ledger as assigned on a business unit level.

Create online banking entries for domestic and international wires payments and ensures
payments are completed in a timely manner.

Reconcile ledger accounts: credit cards, accounts payables, and receivables, work-in-progress, bank accounts.

Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.

Coordinate with business unit managers and prepare annual budgets as directed.

Active participation and contribution in the annual fiscal budget process and financial projections throughout the fiscal year; utilize budget software to create budgets and forecasts; provide analysis and project future results; conversion of the budget into general ledger system.

Support the production of monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports, as needed.

Participate in safety and emergency response plan maintenance, development and training activities.

Maintain a thorough working knowledge of and adhere to organizational policies, regulations, and procedures.

Keep supervisor well informed of activities, results of efforts, and problems/potential problems identified; recommend corrective action to the supervisor.

Respect confidentiality in discussing visitors, clients, tenants, staff and organizational matters.

Report working as scheduled and on time.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field and three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in accounting in the agriculture industry is preferred, but not required.

Computer Skills:

Intermediate or better knowledge of personal computers and peripherals, word processing and spreadsheet software, e-mail and the Internet.

Knowledge of large ERP software

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Maintain the confidence of co-workers, management, vendors, clients, and contractors by keeping appropriate information confidential, as defined in Company Handbook and in any signed Confidentiality Agreements.

Effectively communicate information, using normal word order with present and past tenses using good vocabulary, in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to visitors, vendors, clients, tenants, and other employees of the Company.
