Senior Database Engineer
Direct Hire Position

Position Overview: The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible to provide high level expertise for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases and procedures, assessment, development, and providing a long-term perspective on the relationship of database technology to the business opportunities facing the company.
This person will be interfacing with clients and internal candidates during all phases of their responsible projects and must have strong customer service skills.
Success in this position will be measured by overall customer satisfaction and the attainment of revenue and other business goals.
This person must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of internal employees in addition to being comfortable communicating with clients, vendors, and other personnel regarding the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all the client services offerings.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with product teams with LOB to be the Database SME and help with performance tuning, security, code reviews and design reviews for multiple scrums teams.
Gain a good knowledge of existing data model and application functionality
Provide technical guidance during all phases of the development process.
Implement process improvement with internal development and QA teams with focus on database design and hardware performance improvement and testing
Manage client facing projects focused on database services
Upgrade/Install/Configuration SQL Server Environment Upgrade/Install/Configuration
Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance
Work with potential customers to define solution requirements and strategy for implementation
Position Requirements:
5+ years of experience with SQL Server, including Implementation and configuration,
Experience working in SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008
4 + years of experience with: Database Tuning and Database Security
Strong knowledge of hardware technologies
Knowledge of Web Services technologies
Experience Managing client facing projects focused on database services
Willing and excited to be the SQL DBA SME within this office and team in North Carolina
