Job Description

Our client is looking for an engineer who is familiar with DevOps culture, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and configuration management.

The individual should have an understanding of the present IT landscape, and how current trends can affect business.

A background in computer science would be strongly desired as the bulk of responsibilities will be on automating systems engineering tasks.

Given our current heterogeneous network, a strong understanding of both Red Hat Linux and Windows is strongly desired.

Applicants who contribute to open source projects will be viewed favorably.

Required Skills for DevOps Engineer :

Proven history of automating tasks through scripting (Bash, Python, Powershell).

Experience with configuration management (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible).

Experience setting up and configuring continuous integration systems and pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, VSTS, GitLab CI).

Strong understanding of Red Hat / CentOS Linux and Windows systems.

Experience managing modern web application stacks (e.g. Apache httpd, Apache Tomcat, IIS, nginx).

Familiarity with various software development processes and methodologies.

Desire to continuously Client, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies.

Nice to have for DevOps Engineer:

Understanding of modern cloud offerings, including those from Azure, AWS and GCP.

Familiarity with container technologies (ie: Docker, Kubernetes, CoreOS)

Familiarity with package management and artifact repositories, including nuget, npm, maven and Sonatype Nexus.

Familiarity with third party deployment tools (ie: VSTS, TeamCity, Xebia Labs, Octopus).
