BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE/DATA ARCHITECT

Plano, TX

We are hiring for a Business Intelligence/Data Architect who will build databases, develop applications, develop reports and create ETL processes for the delivery of crucial data in varying formats (XML, XLS, RDBMS).

The Senior Architect should have a well-rounded and diverse background including C#/.NET, SQL and cloud (Azure, AWS).

The Business Intelligence Developer will play a crucial role in revamping an entire legacy Technology department from the ground up.

Those who do not believe in delivering excellence and providing above and beyond customer service on a daily basis need not apply.

What You'll Do:

Performs a key management and thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation.

Defines and achieves the strategy roadmap for the enterprise; including data modeling, implementation, and data management for our enterprise data warehouse.

Defines and implements the strategy roadmap for enterprise data, implementation, and data management for new data sources, publicly available data, business-to-business partnerships, and advanced Data
Analytics systems.

Application, data management, and reporting support for financial, human capital, and operational systems all in an entirely Microsoft environment.

Manage the complete software development life cycle (SDLC) of the Information System Projects; including gathering requirements, database management, source code management, software development, coding, testing, implementation, user follow up, and support.

Troubleshoot and perform improvements and upgrades to existing applications.

Ensure the successful transmission of data from both internal and external systems, validation of the received data, and accurate processing of the data into the target systems.

Establish controls to ensure the validity of the data and develops processes to automate these tasks.

Perform analysis in application development, data access, data integration, data visualization, database design and implementation.

Implement the strategy roadmap for enterprise data, implementation, and data management for new data sources, publicly available data, business-to-business partnerships, and advanced Data Analytics systems.

Gather requirements, gains business consensus, performs vendor and product evaluations, delivers solutions, training, and documentation.

Successfully drive rapid prototyping and design for new projects. Translates broader business initiatives into objectives and concrete goals and aligning appropriately with other groups for efficient and coordinated action.

Understand the business requirements and business processes, to design the data warehouse ( "DW”) schema, and to define extract-translate-load ( "ETL”) and/or extract-load-translate ( "ELT”) processes for DW.

Create Client-access-distill ( "DAD”) strategies to bring significant value data understanding.

Participate in projects and works with project teams using both Agile and Waterfall methods.

Draw conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members, providing active leadership skills across project team and business community.

Stay up to date with industry standards, technology and trends

Act as a "public facing” team member partnering with department stake holders, gathering business requirements for initiatives, developing solutions , and executing the tasks to deliver the solution.

Champion continuous process improvement, performance management, and metrics-driven results.

Develop and maintains documentation of system policies, procedures, and configurations.

Skills/Experience You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in MIS or other related technical field preferred

5 years of progressive experience across Application Development

Extensive expertise in SQL Server database required, as well as data modeling, both logical and physical required.

Extensive experience in multidimensional data modeling required, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling “slow-changing” dimensions/attributes required.

Proven experience with front-end reporting tools along with web application development, design, and implementation

Experience in application development that includes proficiency with software development tools such as
.NET, C#, Visual Studio, Java Scripting, VB Scripting and related scripting languages

Experience in designing systems that use XML/XSLT and/or JSON

Experience working with Business Intelligence Tools; SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Business Intelligence
Development Studio

Experience with Business Analytics/Data Visualization tools such as PowerBI, QlikView, Logi Analytics, and Tableau

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong verbal, written and visual communication and presentation skills

Proven negotiating and consensus building abilities

Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations

Expert Knowledge of SQL databases and SQL in at least one of the following environments required:
Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
