Job Description

QUANTITATIVE DATA SCIENTIST

A national communications firm is actively seeking an experienced Quantitative Data Scientist to join their team.

The ideal candidate has a strong mathematical optimization background in linear programming and have a PhD.

The Quantitative Data Scientist will be developing within MATLAB to build, edit, and analyze their optimization algorithms to optimize data results for the business.

Excellent communication skills are required as you must also be able to work with upper management and present findings to business leaders.

Responsibilities:

Performs data mining and analyses as part of optimization efforts.

Performs daily analysis and updates, ad hoc requests.

Helps plan, scope, schedule, and implement optimization activities for projects of varying size and complexity.

Works with business partners to identify optimization needs and to communicate results.

Implement changes in the current application framework.

Requirements:

PhD is highly desired

2+ years in a similar role

Experience with linear programming

Experience with Genetic, Quicksort, Synergy algorithms

Highly analytical with the ability to interpret data in a way that leads to actionable strategies.

Demonstrate creativity and assertiveness by providing insight on how results could be analyzed to positively impact the overall success of the company.

Communicates effectively while exhibiting excellent customer service with various audiences (internal and external stakeholders).

Ability to work independently and cohesively as a team player to find ways to uncover opportunities.

Ability to present data, findings, and recommendations that are appropriate for senior level management.

Analytical skills (statistical skills required).

Advanced math skills required.
