DEVOPS ENGINEER

Dallas / Farmers Branch, TX

Direct Hire: Base + Bonus

ICS is hiring a DevOps Engineer for our Client in the Dallas / Farmers Branch area! This position will join the Engineering team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the build, design, deployment, and monitoring of a new, modern platform.

We are looking for someone with strong technical skill and experinece in cloud-hosted application.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Ensure 24x7 availability of SaaS services

Participate in on call rotation

Contribute in the different phases of the Agile based SDLC

Participate as a full member of the development team

Take part in Scrum meetings providing timely inputs on infrastructure, scalability, monitoring, operational process, infrastructure efficiency and release process

Leverage and extend a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is preferred, but cloud experience is required)

Implement security best practices to harden systems in the earliest stages of development

Evangelize scalable operational practices and create automation to enforce these ideals

Create and maintain operational run books

Develop scripts to automate and simplify day to day operational tasks

Contribute to ongoing improvements and refinements of application and infrastructure monitoring

Mentor and provide guidance to DevOps Engineer and provide support to the DevOps Manager as needed

Provide backup to the DevOps Manager in a day to day team functions

Work with the following technologies:

Linux

Docker (and orchestration, i.e. ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)

Jenkins

Ansible

AWS

VMWare vCenter

Windows Server 2008+

PowerShell

Octopus Deploy

Atlassian Jira, Confluence, etc

Windows AD user, group & GPO-based administration

MS Office 365

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

7+ years of overall experience

Must have demonstrated hands-on experience managing SaaS products and platforms

Strong understanding of Red Hat Linux, web servers (Apache, Nginx), Application servers (JBOSS, Tomcat), and Relation Databases.

Strong understanding of DevOps and platform software tools (Ansible, Docker, Jenkins etc).

Strong understanding of Amazon Web Services cloud-based platform

Strong knowledge of data center networking (including load balancers and VPN)

Strong emphasis on security best practices and incident response

Strong knowledge of release management.

Good knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices (Agile/Scrum)
