Tax Manager - Compliance

North Dallas, TX

Growing international company in North Dallas is seeking to add a Tax Manager to their team and is looking for a tax expert with a strong compliance tax background.

Responsibilities

Manage global tax compliance and advisory services including developing annual compliance plan, scheduling return prep and monitoring progress to ensure deadlines are met

Assist in providing expertise and analysis to legal team, finance team and across divisions to ensure understanding of process

Review pro forma tax returns

Responsible for the accuracy of domestic federal tax return components

Ensure appropriate inclusion of international activities of international activities of US consolidated return

Develop, update and manage standard tax reporting packages, managing standard tax software vendor relationships

State planning and compliance

Train tax department personnel on compliance procedures and documentation standards

Manages tax review by external firms for federal consolidated tax return and separate filings, resolves and responds to all tax audit questions

Responsible for hiring, firing, performance and pay reviews for staff

Implementation of tax compliance procedures, schedules to ensure meeting statutory deadlines for multiple deadlines

Manage tax return compliance process, relationship with external tax partners and assist in tax audit projects, ad hoc projects

Research and consult on complex tax returns, demonstrate understanding of tax return processes and financial statements

Coordinate development of planning activities on engagements including time budgets

Ability to plan, perform and deliver work independently

Ensure that deliverables are clear, concise and within guidelines, implement processes that improve processes within tax department

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

7+ years accounting experience,

Extensive knowledge of US tax law and compliance

Advanced knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting and technical accounting

Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
