Job Description
NETWORK AUTOMATION ENGINEER
Seeking an experienced Network Automation Engineer for a global financial organization.
The Network Automation Engineer must be fluent in scripting, specifically Python or Bash.
You will also provide leadership in network design, deployment, maintenance, and 24x7 operational support.
The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.
Responsibilities
Support/maintain multiple multi-vendor production network environments critical to the business
Manage/execute network and firewall requests in accordance with security policies on mission critical infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex network issues and performance problems
Design, configuration and support of real-time market feeds and multicast data
Research and design new networking solutions based on given requirements
Assist with problem solving and escalation procedures
Understand and follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to same
Provide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructure
Assist with development of policies and procedures for maintaining network infrastructure
Collaborate and work closely with Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, and Datacenter Engineering teams
Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation
Qualifications
3+ years of as a Network Engineer or a Network automation Engineer
Relevant experience including design, deployment, and support for large scale networks
Fluency in Python or Bash scripting
Extensive knowledge of two or more network operating systems/platforms including Junos, IOS/NX-OS, EOS, or F5 LTM/GTM
Knowledge of Checkpoint FW-1 or similar statefull packet inspection firewalls
Knowledge of Juniper MX/EX/QFX platforms
TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP routing skills
Strong packet capture analysis skills
Knowledge of multicast design and troubleshooting including IGMP and PIM protocols
Deep understanding of NAT, route maps/ACLs, routing policies, and IPSEC VPN
Experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible
Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects
Ability to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem and resolve/escalate accordingly
Strong communication and customer service skills
B.S. in CS/IT or equivalent relative experience
