RESPONSIBILITIES

Work directly with business users to define current state, identify pain points as well as opportunities for automation and/or greater efficiency, and brainstorm on desired/future state (i.e., business process reengineering)

Identify the gaps between what is requested and what is needed to deliver business value

Analyze data – documents, email, SQL databases, Excel, etc. - relating to the business processes at issue

Create documentation to confirm requirements with business users as well as communicate those requirements to developers: Word/Text Editors, Excel, Visio.

With feedback from developers and other business analysts, learn as you go and adapt documentation methods to best fit into the specific needs of developing for the Appian platform and integrating that platform with other applications used by the firm

Use examples in validating and communicating requirements

Work with the development team daily as requirements pass through each stage of development

Test solutions and provide feedback to developers

Coordinate acceptance testing by users

Communicate status to business stakeholders

Assist with production support of new features and workflows

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Demonstrated proficiency breaking down software requirements into discrete, verifiable units of work

Ability to learn about new business areas and processes

Comfortable working on an Agile team, e.g., rapid development, evolving requirements, continual improvement

Effective communication with business and technical stakeholders

Strong data analysis skills

Familiarity with SQL to perform SELECT queries with joins

Strong Excel skills (including vlookup function and pivot tables)

Workflow/Visio skills

Use Jira to document and track units of work (stories, bugs) for the development team
