ORACLE DATABASE ENGINEER
CONTRACT; OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND OR CONVERT
PLANO, TX
POSITION:
ICS is looking for a senior Oracle Database Engineer, with Golden Gate experience, to join our growing financial software client’s team in Plano, TX!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Creates and manages databases for a company or organization.
Install and configure the database.
Ensure that the databases are secure and that they function properly.
Carry out constant testing and monitoring to make sure that the database is functioning as it should.
Troubleshooting and utilizing expert problem-solving skills
Document database schemas and models, including functions, tables, and stored procedures as well as data dictionaries.
Monitor databases and apply patches, execute scripts, and create backups to ensure access and the consistency of data.
Support and maintain software to interface with databases.
REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years in an Oracle Database Engineer position within a Linux environment
Experience using Golden Gate
Other technology requirements:
Skills:Databases: Oracle, Cassandra, RDS, Aurora.
Source Control: GitHub
Scripting languages: Python, bash, batch.
Monitoring: AppDynamics, Wavefront, Splunk. Configuration Management: Terraform, CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible. Hosting: AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.
Education: B.S. or higher in Computer Science
