Our client is a Not for profit company that is rapidly growing as a leader in the Education industry. They are looking to add a Data Architect to their growing IT team.

Reporting to the Director of Data Management & Analytics , the Data Architect will help to

enhance the learning experience for thousands of children across the five boroughs of NYC by

defining critical data warehouse architecture and ETL design patterns used to drive academic

performance and increase operational efficiency, and help to design, build, and optimize SA's

foundational data architecture hosted on AWS. Imagine working for a company that has the

In this role you will:

Translate business and data requirements in to domain, logical, and physical models

that support user facing BI dashboards;

Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines using APIs and flat file ingestion patterns;

Design standard methodologies, toolsets, and design patterns to build highly scalable

and secure data products;

Contribute to performance metric definitions that promote optimization of our internal

tech stack;

Document standards, metadata, and entity and domain relationships;

Design, build, and maintain AWS services using S3, EC2, Redshift, Glue and more;

Contribute to the creation of a data infrastructure roadmap for SA to accommodate

current and future data warehouse and operational data store needs.

Manage standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates, and key

management;

Partner with internal Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Analysts to build the

full lifecycle of data products end-to-end.

We'd be excited to hear from you if:

You have experience designing and building a data warehouse, streaming architecture,

and machine learning pipelines;

You are comfortable with Python, bonus points for Scala;

You are familiar with reporting packages and data visualization platforms including

Sisense, Looker and Tableau;

You are experienced in ETL/ELT and workflow scheduling with Matillion, Talend ESB,

Airflow, AWS Data Pipelines, Lambda, SQS, etc.;

You are experienced with microservices, data lakes, ELT and how to design all three in

tandem

You demonstrate patience when working with poor quality data and lack of existing

documentation;

You can mentor and educate teammates in best practices and new patterns;

You have 5-7 years of experience on a data science and/or analytics team;

You hold a strong interest in education reform and working for a mission driven

organization.
