Job Description - Senior Accountant

We are conducting a search for a Senior Technical Accountant to join one of the top companies in South Florida.

This role will be research based in nature with exposure to many business areas in the organization.

The ideal candidate will have prior Big 4 accounting experience and a CPA.

Assist team in monitoring ongoing accounting standard developments

Participate in plans for implementations of any new accounting standards

Further develop and standardize global policies and perform refresh of existing accounting policies on an ongoing basis

Assist in the development of policy management tool to allow for more consistent development and distribution of global accounting policies

Perform accounting research for various issues as they arise

Assist with the preparation of the 10-K, 10-Q and various bank reporting requirements as required

Perform account reviews of certain corporate-level or consolidated accounts, such as pensions, derivatives, etc.

Provide support to other business units in the organization by investigating accounting questions or issues

Participate in the execution of internal control procedures, including maintaining support for disclosures related to various filings and executing account reviews

Assist internal and external auditors with various report requests and questions.

Experience:

2-5 years of work experience, including public accounting experience

CPA

Strong technical accounting skills (experience in purchase accounting preferable)

Effective business writing, strong analytical skills, ability to review and analyze contracts and attention to detail

Ability to work effectively with various levels of management

Experience with SEC reporting and related requirements

Strong Excel skills
