QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST - III

Dallas, TX

6 Month Contract Position

ICS is hiring an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst for our Client in the Downtown Dallas area! This is a key role in the testing, planning, and executing the delivery of quality software applications.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will apply knowledge to collaborate with the project teams and design engineers in order to ensure all phases of the project development life cycle are up to company standards.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications

Be involved in test planning, writing test cases and scripts, test case automation and test execution

Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status

Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business

Document all problems and assists in their resolution

Deliver quality process training to technical Primary Responsibilities

Perform Quality Assurance Testing:

Develop and execute test scripts for testing on endpoint devices (physical; virtual; mobile)

Apply testing scripts in order to isolate, reproduce, and report defects

Test operating system/application features and functionality

Understand options and applies optimal techniques for stress-load testing, data integrity checking, security validation, and performance testing

Plan, schedule, and monitor assigned work in order to meet priorities

Demonstrate analytical and systematic approach to problem solving

Understand and use appropriate methods, tools, and applications on diverse platforms and with a wide range of delivery tools

Follow current processes and assists with creation of future process development):


Comply with standards for conducting quality and performance tests

Organize and archive test cases and procedures for future reuse

Analyze and quantify quality and performance risks

Absorb and apply new technical information quickly

Assist with developing standards for test cases and scripts for current and future

Participate in project teams:


Participates in functional and technical specification reviews

Works closely with design engineers and project teams to ensure project outcomes meet quality and
performance requirements

Tailor communication for the appropriate level:


Effectively and accurately boil technical information to the appropriate level

Communicate quality and performance issues to management

Work with customers and application development and scripting teams to discuss requirements and develop test plans Critical Skills

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:

3+ years experience testing in Microsoft OS and or Mac OS environments

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, or related degree preferred

Knowledge and use of quality management methods, tools, and techniques used to create and support defect-free changes to the endpoint including: application and software upgrades, operating system configuration changes, and security changes.

Ability to plan, schedule and monitor work activities in order to meet time and quality targets

Ability to absorb rapidly new technical information and apply it effectively

Ability to define quality concepts and processes, and ability to interpret information and data

Ability to determine what data to collect for a specific quality assurance or testing technique, and how to analyze the results

Understanding of, and ability to apply, basic inspection and testing techniques, and corrective and
preventive actions, including root cause analysis

This position requires that candidates fall within one of the following citizenship categories:

U.S. Citizen native or naturalized.

Permanent resident who has applied for U.S. Citizenship

Permanent resident who is not yet eligible to apply for citizenship -require the person to sign a letter of intent to file for U.S. Citizenship within 6 months of becoming eligible

A permanent resident is eligible to file five years after receiving the permanent residency. If the person received permanent residency through marriage, he or she is eligible after three years.
