Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Lead Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations for their portfolio of multifamily properties.

Future potential to grow into a higher level role! Prior experience with property accounting is a must.

Job Overview:

Coordinate the daily, monthly and annual accounting activities for our portfolio of properties - including but not limited to; financial statements, supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts, g/l classifications, cash distributions, bank reconciliations, property level performance returns, and reporting.

Complete and review the compilation and delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reports and financial statements to properties and lenders as well as internal use. Manage the accounting processes and procedures in order to continuously assess best practices.

Assist with acquisition and disposition closing and documentation review including reviewing loan agreements, prorations, operating agreements, budgets, and certifications. Assist in the Yardi setup for acquisitions and deactivation for dispositions.

Education, Experience, Skills, Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

5+ years of Accounting experience

Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to work in a team focused environment

Strong understanding of company financials

Superior written and verbal communications skills

Easily manage relationships and build rapport with others such as residents, managers and executives

Customer-service driven with the ability to follow up and keep everyone informed

Possess a sense of urgency with dedication to completing work in a timely manner
