Job Description

Responsibilities

· Analyze requirements then design & develop applications to meet business needs, suggesting the innovative use of newer technologies where appropriate

· Build and maintain positive relationships with internal clients, IT co-workers, and enterprise teams

· Participate in Agile teams to meet goals

· Possess excellent oral and written communication skills

· Possess the ability to associate prior experiences with current events in order to resolve problems or generate new ideas

· Develop & execute test scenarios ensuring the stability/performance of applications

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

· 7+ years of development experience (Java, Python, SQL, Bash/Shell)

· 5+ years of experience with RDBMS (query optimization, data modeling, schema design)

· 3+ years of Hadoop ecosystem with deep knowledge of the technologies

· Must have working knowledge of Hive and Kafka

· 5+ years of experience with ETL tools (e.g. Pentaho PDI, Informatica, Talend)

· Previously implemented and maintained a data lake and data pipelines

· Strong grasp of Big Data concepts and real-world challenges

· Good understand of Linux/Unix and open-source

· Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins

· Background in working within the Agile methodology

· Desire to learn the Fixed Income investments business

Additional Qualifications

· Cloudera (CCDH, CCPDS) or Hortonworks (HCAHD) certification

· Experience with DevOps mindset and tooling
