The Infrastructure Service Engineer, is a global role that spans across a number of infrastructure teams and is responsible for the day to day support of the firm’s network, data centre and telecommunication infrastructure.
The role will be responsible for globally maintaining, administering, monitoring, all aspects of hardware, software and management, including but not limited to: routers/switches, wide area and local area networks, load balancing, Internet connectivity, wireless, optimisation appliances, server, storage, backup environments, video-telephony and voicemail.
Responsibilities -
Account for the global maintenance, configuration and administration of hardware and software that form the foundation of the Firm’s network, telephony, compute, storage and backup environments
Oversee all aspects of hardware, firmware, and operating systems, along with Active Directory, Remote Access Authentication, Anti-Virus, Storage & Virtualization
Oversee the testing and deployment of OS Security, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Firmware patches according to agreed deployment schedules
Administer all user and computer objects in accordance with Service guidelines
Coordinate the management of Group Policy Objects, file shares, including creation and setting back up schedules and file/directory permissions
Account for the configuration and management of the Firm’s remote access authentication solution and ensures that appropriate process and security standards are in place
Ensure that Business Continuity plans are being adhered to and contributes to testing processes across
Compute, Storage, network, telephony and Backup
Oversee the delivery of new servers according to both user and capacity needs. Works with users/teams to ensure that requests are being addressed and advice is being given accordingly
Ensure that all global systems are properly configured, and system alerts are responded to in accordance with Firm processes and procedures. Maintains and administers all records relating to infrastructure equipment installed at the data centers and remote office facilities
Account for the management of escalated network and data center and telephony related tickets in accordance with local, regional and global Customer Services standards and processes
Oversee the timely and accurate completion of all administrative tasks (time tracking, project and task updates, status reports, responding to email, etc.)
Provide global on-call support as required
Communicate and collaborates with all members of the Data Centre, Network and Telecommunications team
Foster trust and builds relationships with the other Information Technology teams, both globally and within the region
Qualifications -
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or Information Systems. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - Server Infrastructure accreditation, preferred
VMWare Certified Advanced Professional Data Center Administration accreditation, preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Server, VMWare, Enterprise Storage and Backup Systems is required
Knowledge of configuring, implementing and troubleshooting routing, switching and firewall architecture is required
Knowledge of working with network, IP Telecommunication networks, protocols, standards, QoS and
operations is required
Knowledge of configuring, implementing and troubleshooting infrastructure technologies, required Prior experience working with infrastructure monitoring tools, required
Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco IM and Presence
Service, Cisco Unified Border Element, preferred
Prior experience working within an IT operational environment, strongly preferred
Prior experience working in a globally dispersed environment, strongly preferred
Committed to continued advancement with strong change management skills
Resilient and able to handle setbacks
High level of initiative and able to implement improvements when needed
