Job Description
Our client is looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to operationalize very large big data clusters by cloud native automation process.
Must be self-driven to continuously evaluate new technologies, innovate and deliver solutions for business-critical applications with little to no oversight from management team.
Requirements:
6+ years' experience building and supporting large (100s of nodes) distributed clusters, ideally Apache Spark, Hadoop, HBASE, Apache Kafka, Apache Cassandra, Airflow or similar
Experience using scripting languages such as shell or python to automate workflows
Hands-on experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and CloudFormation, Terraform or similar
Experience with developing and deploying in a cloud native environment preferably AWS
Hands on experience with newer technologies for deployment, auto scaling and monitoring (Kubernetes, Packer, Influx DB, Grafana etc.)
Preferred:
Master's in Computer Science or similar is preferred.
Experience building internet scale platforms – handling Peta- byte scale data, operationalizing clusters
with hundreds of compute nodes in cloud environment
Experience in operationalizing Machine Learning workflows to scale
Experience with supporting REST APIs & large distributed databases
Experience with supporting Java/Scala/Python-based applications in a Kubernetes environment
Proficiency with agile development methodologies, shipping features every two weeks
