Job Description
Purpose of the role
Support involves all aspects of the network including servers, desktop systems, communications hardware and software of the current systems, and future enhancements including assist in the Installing, upgrading , maintaining firewalls, routers, switches, and servers.
Support helpdesk with day-to-day operational problems. Must have both business skills and technical IT knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple high-level tasks under pressure.
Primary Responsibilities
SQL 2016 and 2017 administration
Automating files with Perl, VB and other types of scripting
General knowledge of network equipment, firewalls and VPN.
Knowledge of Check Point and IBM MQ
Network monitoring with Tivoli or similar products
Backup and review network equipment periodically (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and Servers)
Monitoring networks for performance problems and capacity planning
Assisting with Disaster Recovery planning for Bank owned recovery site maintain and assist in the updating of servers , workstations, firewalls, routers, switches, and phone lines
Able to work evenings and/or weekends if needed for projects, or if there are production issues, to be available if called on
Monitor performance to provide fast responses to front-end users
Control access permissions and privileges
Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new LAN/WAN equipment
Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues
Analyse the current network structure and submit quarterly comprehensive reports to executive team on how to make the network more efficient
Provide high quality Level 3 support service focusing on Microsoft and Linux network services, IP routing, switching and firewalls (layer 1 through 7), LAN/WAN architecture, Switch management and Server builds
Coordinate completion of technology risk assessments (e.g. penetration tests, application)
Recommend the scope of local Pen Test activities
Interpret the technical vulnerabilities in context of the Branch's IT Assets
Develop remediation plans for Technical Security issues such as malware, phishing incident remediation
Conduct technical security assessments on the locally managed systems and applications as needed
Work with local users on security concerns related to technology (e.g. leaked passwords)
Deploying security patches on the servers and workstations
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the following areas:
Databases (SQL Server up to version 2017)
Automation programming- SQL server DB Administrator, reporting, backup/restore, mirroring, debugging
Perl Script, PowerShell scripting, Visual Basic
SQL Application Support & maintenance
VMWare Support
Microsoft Windows Servers up to version 2016
Experience in Third Party risk assessments and the management of 3rd party relationships
Experience with security event management solutions
Experience with Patch and vulnerability scanning
Experience with Intrusion Prevention and Detection monitoring
Experience with networking and infrastructure architecture
