Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

This Senior Network Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring of the enterprise network infrastructure (wired and wireless).

They will manage all aspects of complex design, configuration, and implementation, troubleshooting and supporting data, voice in converged and non-converged configurations to ensure high availability for the corporate business units.

Candidates should be able to handle multiple projects, tasks and responsibilities.

The candidate should also possess good problem determination and resolution skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as an Expert level SME in the areas of IP routing, Wide Area Networking technologies, MPLS, SD-WAN, Metro Ethernet, VLANs, Cloud Services, WiFi, SIP Trunking, Client, Firewalls, Load balancers, Security Compliance and disaster recovery solutions.

Design and deploy company LANs, WANs and Wireless networks including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers and other related network hardware.

Serve as technical resource on a functional basis for the resolution of complex network problems.

Participate in various projects intended to continually improve/upgrade network infrastructures.

Research, analyze and recommend implementation of software or hardware changes to rectify any network deficiencies or to enhance network performance.

Analyze network activity and network problems to Client and prevent systematic errors.

Access and recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved systems availability and performance.

Provide network planning recommendations to management.

Document procedures and keep network diagrams and related materials up to date.

Knowledge of commercial enterprise-level tools and products to provide network services, including: Web filtering, Open DNS, TACACS+, VPN and Infoblox.

Required to work hours other than regular schedule such as nights, weekends and holidays when needed.

Creates documentation relating to Networking support and best practices as required

Complete all tasks within assigned schedule and budget while maintaining a high level of quality

Provide periodic and accurate feedback on status of assignments

Resolve, or seek resolution to problems, from peers, management, or other Operations personnel

Update and maintain all information and documents relevant to assignments in detail

Maintain a positive work attitude, a high level of communication and cordial relations that foster team work

Resolves incidents, service requests and change orders in timely fashion

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT-related field or equivalent work experience.

5 + years' experience in routing, core switching, Wireless, ASA & Fortinet firewalls, VLAN, VPN, TCP/IP,
DNS, DHCP, Monitoring tools, network topologies and Cisco network components.

Proficient in the following protocols: OSFP, BGP, HSRP, and VPN.

2 + years' experience in Citrix NetScaler or similar load balancing technologies

Strong understanding of WAN Technologies including MPLS, DS3, Ethernet and broadband

Strong understanding of advanced network principles and internet architecture.

Excellent customer relations skills.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Understanding of Client /Server and Web Application components.

Candidate should have a track record of excellent team work, written verbal communications, project
management, and process.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
