Job Description

ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE SPECIALIST

An established and growing software firm is looking to add an Accounting Software Specialist to their local team.

The Accounting Software Specialist will be responsible for working directly with customers over the phone to handle software and accounting (end of month processing, client invoicing, etc.) needs related to the proprietary application.

On average you will receive 20-30 calls a week as a back-office specialist but you should also be able to run SQL queries for the application.

Previous experience working within a Windows environment and the Microsoft Office suite of products is required.

Previous experience working with a shipment tracking and/or order management software is desired.

Excellent customer service skills are required.

Responsibilities

Communicate with customers via telephone and email to resolve software/accounting issues

Document customer issues and resolutions in the incident tracking software

Assist customers with general application questions

Assist customers with dispatch applications. This includes order entry, scheduling, demand graphs, ticketing, reporting, and end of day processing

Assist customers with back office applications.

This includes invoicing processing, account receivable processing, applying payments to invoices, issuing credit/debit memos, reporting, and end of month closing reconciliation.

Assist customers with exports to accounting systems such as QuickBooks and Viewpoint.

Remotely connect to customer workstations or servers to troubleshoot software related issues.

Test, reproduce, research, document any software defects to be passed to development in the incident tracking software

Provide internal support for other employees requiring assistance

Perform software upgrades and complete software installations (may require evening/weekend work)

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT or Business related field preferred

2+ years of software support experience preferred

Basic knowledge of Windows preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred

QuickBooks experience a plus, but not required

Experience writing SQL statements desired

Previous experience working with an accounting, shipment tracking and/or order management software is highly desired
