INFRASTRUCTURE ARCHITECT - SECURITY

A global financial organization is actively seeking a well-rounded Infrastructure Architect who has strong experience with Security to join their Systems Architecture team.

The Systems Architecture team is a cross-discipline team that takes a system view on solution development within the Operations group at the company.

The role of an Infrastructure Architect is to support and work with members of the engineering and development teams, operations team, and company leadership to ensure that the organization continues to delivery on objectives.

Each person within the Systems Architecture team has their own focus – but this Infrastructure Architect will ideally have grown from a hands-on systems or network engineer into an architect and has recent experience working on Security initiatives.

The ideal candidate will not be part of a Cyber Security team but should be an Infrastructure Architect who has done a lot of security work and can look at new solutions from a security perspective.

This role is still very hands-on technical and enterprise level experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide architecture and best practice leadership related to the implementation of security solutions

Develop and define security standards

Responsible for alignment of perimeter security architecture and design standards with business strategy, service delivery, and client and vendor relationships

Focus on protecting infrastructure, data, endpoint, IAM, threats & vulnerability across the technology and business platform

Apply advanced knowledge of the business and IT architecture principles to identify and evaluate alternatives solutions

Help identify gaps in current enterprise security guidance

Review security plans, processes, and strategies to identify areas for improvement or update

Create/update Enterprise Security Architecture Guidance in the form of Design Patterns, Standards, and Implementation Guides

Create diagrams and documentation with all components that comprise IT systems including network topology with security measures and vulnerabilities

Develop Enterprise Security Architecture Metrics

Analyze IT specifications to assess security risks

Design and implement safety measures and data recovery plans

Serve as a security architecture expert

Work closely with subject matter experts to develop and deliver complete security architecture solutions

Provide governance recommendations for all existing cloud services and methodologies for testing and certifying new Cloud services

Assure that all logging and monitoring concerns are well understood and implemented according to regulations



Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field

5+ years in information security with Windows and Linux operating systems

Knowledge of engineering methods in a field of specialty (Systems, Storage, Security, Network, Cloud)

Strong familiarity with networking, virtualization and general IT systems

Previous experience in domains of identity, authentication, and information security

Programming/Scripting Languages: Python, Perl, PowerShell

Extensive background in designing security architectures for global enterprises

Experience designing and implementing an Enterprise Security Architecture process and methodology

Experience in establishing and enforcing standards and practices

Ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways

Knowledgeable of architecture frameworks

Has experience in developing enterprise security design patterns, standards, and guidelines

Broad knowledge of core information security principles (e.g. access control, least privilege, data integrity) and security capabilities

Knowledge of a product technology and system level integration

Industry certification preferred (CISSP, CISA, GIAC, CCSP, Cloud provider certifications)

Technical certifications are not required but considered an asset are: CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA, GPEN, GCFE, CCNA, CCNP

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to conduct presentations to peers, cross- functional teams and director level of leadership

Understanding/Knowledge of global frameworks and standards like NIST, CIS, etc.
