Job Description

Our Client is looking for a System Administrator (SA) who will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related IT infrastructure.

This individual is responsible for managing, supporting, trouble shooting, configuring and implementing all the IT infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities:

Design, implement and maintain on prem and cloud-based servers, network, hardware and storage. AWS and Azure based environments, primarily AWS. Maintain RDS and development environments

Perform scheduled maintenance, patching, and monitoring of network environment including Cloud and
On Premises based infrastructure.

Responsible for backups of all network devices and servers, maintaining backups, and validation of backups.

Daily system monitoring of resources, storage, hardware, logs, key processes and scheduled jobs. Work with the development staff to facilitate their needs related to infrastructure.

Assist in security monitoring, reporting, and enforcement of company security policy.

Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning and growth.

Responsible for performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required Act as
2nd/3rd level support for Customer Service for all hardware including workstations, laptops, and cellular devices and VPN related issues.

Documentation of Business continuity and disaster recovery plan in accordance with standard practices.
Remediation of potential breaches of security.

Assist in managing Office 365 Environment as well as Active Directory, including Group policy.

Lead bi-annual security penetration testing and remediation activities

Partner with the compliance officer to assist in Planning, implementing and overseeing risk-related programs.

Occasional on-call support if "urgent " issues arise during nonstandard work-day hours.

Skills/Knowledge

Cloud infrastructure experience using AWS –EC2/EBS/EFS/S3/VPC/etc

DevOps Azure, O365 platform and user management

Strong understanding of HA/DR best practices

Must have a strong grasp of computer security (e.g. firewalls and intrusion detection systems, AWS VPC / Security Groups, etc)

Atlassian suite of products, BOX, AlienVault, Load Balancer functions, Firewalls, and Routers, VPN
(TorGuard,) Layer 2 and Layer 3 POE Switching protocol.

Microsoft Windows 10 and Apple IOS Operating Systems, Linux Ubuntu Storage Servers, NAS/DAS/SANs,
AWS Security Monitoring, Email Security

Network Security protocol Microsoft Windows and Server Patches

Experienced with SSL and other certificates

Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu preferred)

Proficiency in Windows 10 and Apple Operating Systems

Installation and configuration of MS SQL Server

Proactive and intuitive problem solving

Bachelor's Degree5+ years of experience

At least 3+ years experience with AWS Cloud Technologies

Ability to follow directions and multi-task with a high sense of urgency

Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment

Clear communication a must

Education and Work Experience

Experience deploying high availability systems and disaster recovery environments

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Comfortable speaking directly to clients about technical issues

Strong scripting skills with an emphasis on automating operations tasks

Knowledgeable of troubleshooting tools in both Windows and Linux environments

Experience configuring and deploying Java web applications

General SQL knowledge and experience with database administration tasks

Ability to react quickly with best practices in mind.

The preferred hours are 9am-6pm but could be flexible.

This position will require some after hours, weekends, off hours, and some on call work based on need.
