Job Description
The position of Business Intelligence Architect will lead the delivery of the firm’s business analytics solutions based on the business requirements of key stakeholders.
The candidate will play a lead role in successful implementations that include analytic and dashboard visualization, data modeling and warehousing solutions.
The candidate will focus on delivering the vision of the department through process, development and lifecycle
Essential Functions
Design, evaluate and implement solutions across the Business Intelligence & Analytics domain
Validate report metric using SQL against the underlying database
Create visualization solutions based on requirements from stakeholders
Ensure dashboards & reports meet and deliver the business requirements
Research new technology and develop new services and solution offerings
Define the overall end-to-end BI data architecture, including ETL processes, ODS, EDW, data marts and data lakes
Understand how to create dashboards, interactive analytic components, online standard reports and external facing reports
Design advanced conceptual, logical and physical data organizations, models, repository, dashboards, reports within a complete functional and technical architecture
Partners with other Data professionals, infrastructure and software experts to define metadata layers, technical strategy and optimal integration within existing client IT landscape.
Ensure business has access to and is provided with adequate, understandable, accurate data
Design, develop and continuously improve supporting activities which includes but not limited to the automation of versioning and release management, scheduling, security models, and impact assessment of new changes.
Develop business cases and ROI for department to get buy-in from senior and executive management.
Interview stakeholders and develop BI roadmap for success given project prioritization and budget.
Evangelize self-service BI and visual discovery while helping to change Excel based culture.
Work closely with Data Services manager to ensure prioritization of corporate and departmental objectives and projects.
Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the department by designing and promoting best practices
Formulates and recommends standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the data warehouse and data services ecosystem.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Minimum 3 to 5 years as Business Intelligence Architect
Minimum 3 years of experience leading and developing IT business processes
Experience with OLTP and OLAP database models
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Advanced knowledge in data warehouse dimensional modelling. Hands on knowledge with at least one
Key ETL Market tool
Experience with Qlik Sense, PowerBI or Tableau
Experience with SDLC and Agile development
Effectively communicates difficult/sensitive information
Fluent in relational database concepts and flat file processing concepts
Strong presentation and collaboration skills and can communicate all aspects of the job requirements, including the creation of formal documentation
Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or related fields.
