Job Description

The candidate will work as part of the DBA team that works on cutting edge technologies to support our trading systems.

This includes real time Datawarehouse, Goldengate replication and Oracle RAC.

The candidate will also work on new cloud technologies as we migrate our applications to AWS cloud.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

Active experience in supporting SQL Server environments.

Manage SQL Server through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.

Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and
performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.

Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.

Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.

Work with Goldengate to replicate data among different databases.

Assist development and reporting groups in optimizing SQL statements in applications, batch jobs, and reports and in designing and using databases and database applications and processes for maximum performance, security, reliability, and availability.

Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Monitors performance issues on all production and non-production databases (as applicable) implementing performance monitoring and trending on all production and applicable non-production databases.

Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours

Skills and Qualifications

10+ years MS SQL Server Database Administration experience required

Experience with GoldenGate

Knowledge of Cloud platforms like AWS or Azure

Knowledge of Data Warehouse and ETL tools like SSIS

Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization at the database as well at the application level

Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server( Always-on )

Excellent written and verbal communication skill

Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams

Proficiency with powershell and/or python

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field

Preferred

Experience in Oracle Database Administration

Proficiency in Agile methodology.

DBA certification is a plus
