Contract Position
ICS is hiring an intermediate Software Engineer for our Client in the Plano, TX area!
PROFICIENCIES YOU NEED:
Proficient in Big Data application development skills as well as multiple design techniques
Working proficiency in Big Data development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in at least one of the common frameworks
Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, TesT Driven
Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security
Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages
Working proficiency in a portion of software engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of
overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement of software
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED:
Minimum 7+ years of application development/consulting experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Strong interpersonal, communication skills
Independent and self-motivated, experience in Agile Methodology and scrum principles
Hands on experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project
Proven results and experience with achieving goals, developing and implementing new strategies
5+ years of experience with Informatica/Ab Initio, shell scripts, Perl, and Job Scheduling tools like Autosys/CTRL-M
5+ years of experience with Teradata, Oracle, or any other RDBMS.
Prior experience with Big Data experience with Hadoop, Spark, Java / Scala, Impala and Hive is a plus.
Prior experience with No SQL databases Cassandra and Mongo DB a plus.
Design and development of multi-tier software applications
Test Driven Development/Behavior Driven Development
Solid experience utilizing Source code control software (e.g. GIT, Subversion), Jenkins/Mavin
