Job Description

Exciting DevOps/Cloud opportunity to work with a top-notch team supporting the future of smart cities!

Duties:

You will work within the virtualization team to optimize existing on-premises virtualization and emerging cloud infrastructure environments.

Provide system configuration engineering functions for the Enterprise IT infrastructure, including infrastructure as code deployment, cloud management platform framework engineering, monitoring and tuning as well as resolving service incidents.

Responsible for some portion of the overall design, installation and integration of IT Infrastructure throughout the Enterprise.

Provides operational support for virtualization and cloud infrastructure projects varying in size and complexity.

Executes the technical aspects of infrastructure projects from concept and scoping through design and implementation.

Participate in the daily operations of the Infrastructure team and to act as an internal developer advocating across the entire enterprise, teaching DevOps principles, and assisting teams as they undergo their agile/digital transformation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

Build, design, deploy, maintain and lead the implementation of Cloud solutions across private and public cloud environments

Participate in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities

Help implement the technology direction, vision, and strategy to enable Cloud technology adoption

Implement and refine cloud future state architectures and roadmaps including architecture standards, guidelines, and industry best practices.

Act as project lead around further software defined services and offerings

Develop, enhance, and maintain automation of cloud enablement tools

Participate in the design, implementation and management of workload automation initiatives.

Adhere to Change Management and Problem Management policies

Identifies and resolves service incidents, issues, questions and problems with all elements of the infrastructure system. Refers complex matters to higher level infrastructure staff members for resolution.

Maintains an understanding of IT Infrastructure and DevOps technologies, processes, methodologies and best practices.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of relevant professional experience.

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Engineering, Computer Science,
Computer Security, Information Technology or related discipline

Must be comfortable collaborating with teams to design solutions that solve business needs

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IAC)

Well versed in DevOps practices

Advanced skills with Linux (RHEL, Centos)

Expert with Linux type scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, Groovy, etc)

Experience with source code repository tools (GIT, SVN)

In depth knowledge of configuration file types (YAML, JSON)

Experience with Agile development practices

Expert with build automation technologies using CI/CD pipelines

Experience with automated configuration and orchestration tools (Ansible, Cloud Formation, terraform)

Experience building customized dashboards for continuous monitoring of the environment

Work with each team to optimize their application and infrastructure performance

AWS Cloud services particularly Lambda

Enterprise infrastructure technology

Kubernetes orchestration technology

Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)

Artifact binary repository management (Artifactory, etc)

OS package management systems (Yum, Apt, etc)
