Cost Accountant

ICS is immediately hiring for a cost accountant for one of our clients. You will be responsible administering and coordinating accounting activities for detailed sourced product standard cost data.

Working alongside product manager, you will set cost standards on purchased products to identify
variances in costs and set standards.

This role is critical because store manager and the financial department rely on the data to manage price variances.

What You’ll Do:

Provide management with reports on monthly purchase activity including purchase price variance

Monitor purchase price variances to standards during month-end close helpingensure accuracy of financial statements by item, component, and purchase.

Conduct regular testing to verify the accuracy of system standards for internal and external stakeholders.

Reconcile and research variance issues, determine causes and coordinate/drive corrections.

Record and review cost calculations with management, to ensure consistency with the selling price.

Skills/Experience You’ll Need:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but equivalent cost accounting experience will also be accepted.

3 to 5 years of experience in standard cost calculation, variance analysis, and monitoring inventory system results

Proficient in Excel and Access

SAP system experience preferred

Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
