Network Engineer – Customer Site Team

Minneapolis – St Paul, MN

2 Openings - $55,000 - $95,000 base pay range DOQ

Must have clean driving record and reliable transportation to travel locally around Twin Cities.

Our direct client is looking to add 2 Network Engineers to their customer site team of 13 engineers.

This group is responsible for traveling locally to customer sites and designing, deploying, supporting, break/fix, upgrading, troubleshooting service provider networks.

These Network Engineers work on a team performing both new customer activations, customer network architecture design and integration projects.

Will design, configure, and install custom infrastructure solutions for customers data centers.

Looking for proven Cisco Networking experience ( Data, Voice, Security ):

Routers, switches, VOIP, security, etc.

Looking for experience working within a service provider, MSP, consulting service type environment
ASA Firewalls

Any Mitel, Shortel, Juniper type exposure is nice to have, but not required. Cisco is 99% of the environments

Understanding of how networking effects the Systems / servers : Windows, Unix, applications, etc.

Evaluate local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) performance data to ensure enough availability or speed, to identify network problems, or for disaster recovery purposes

Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking equipment

Install and test new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems

Install or repair network cables, including fiber optic cables

Configure custom security policies in existing Cisco ASA series firewalls to support customer VPNs and protect customer servers, in both stand alone and shared environments

Configure MPLS services in existing MPLS backbone to interconnect customer locations with Data Center resources

Configure customer facing network ports on existing Cisco network including: T1, Multilink PPP T1, T3,
Metro Ethernet, Ethernet; provide onsite support for testing and day one go-live

Be last escalation point for: EIGRP, BGP routing and layer 2 switching

Knowledge of Low Voltage wiring standards

Service provider protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and MLPS

Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, CCDE
