SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

A growing national organization is actively seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join their local headquarters.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the administration and support of the Active Directory, Windows 2016, VMWare and Citrix environment.

You will resolve issues regarding operations, including installations, setups, error resolution, system transactions, system status and downtime procedures, etc.

You will provide preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving problems, ensure proper functioning of company's information processing system and make upgrades as necessary.

Assist business operations to utilize information systems to improve efficiency.

Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems pertaining to emails, messages and mobile access.

Recommend and schedules repairs.

Provide end users support for all mobile based applications.

Excellent communication skills are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate with technical (e.g., applications developers) and non-technical (e.g., users) staff, and vendors to ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.

Act as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.

Provide system integration planning and recommend innovative technologies that will enhance the current system.

Recommend appropriate desktop, computer platform, and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy.

Analyze user requirements for MS Exchange and other e-mail applications and recommend solutions.

Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.

Monitor and manage the e-mail environment.

Maintain storage, security, routing tables, and internet presence.

Tests, debugs and implements operating systems components, software tools, and utilities.

Makes modifications to existing software to fit specialized needs and configurations, and maintains program libraries and technical documentation.

Help develop standards and procedures related to network hardware, software acquisitions, supports agreements, security and backups.

Provide communications of standards for use, operations, security of network, personal computers, and data on the network.

Assist in the development and implementation of the business continuity plan for continued operations in the event of a disaster; including plans to continue information systems functions at other locations.

Responsible for monitoring and scheduling nightly backup and data archiving functions.

Oversee all computer hardware and software operations and ensures high degree of uptime for the organization.

Coordinate maintenance windows and strive for 24x7 operations with minimal downtime windows.

Assist in rotating weekly on-call schedule. Ensure critical systems are covered under maintenance contracts and recommend changes and additions to management.

Participate in contract negotiations related to hardware, software, wiring, support, and training for IT Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree desired but not required

3+ years professional experience as a Systems Administrator

Windows 2010-2016 experience - ability to troubleshoot Windows servers.

Active Directory experience

VMWare

Citrix

Ability to assist with and resolve escalated ticket issues

Demonstrated knowledge of the following: Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Windows Login Script, Desktop Equipment, Microsoft Exchange Server, Citrix 7, VMWare, Office 365, Dell switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Nutanix Hyper-converged infrastructure.

Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and 802.X wireless Protocols.

Citrix Certification, MCSE, VMWare, and Windows Server Administration Certification preferred.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Demonstrated deployment and planning abilities.
