Job Description

Reports Developer

Job Summary: Develop, maintain, and publish reports for use in all business units. System administration/upgrades and user administration as needed.

Working with PLSQL and T-SQL to create, maintain and troubleshoot underlying reporting data objects.

Reporting Systems: Microsoft PowerBI, SAP Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Hubble Reports.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Develop new reports from a mix of written detail specifications to verbal broad specifications in order to meet the reporting needs of all business units.

Create queries and view objects against Oracle and SQL databases which deliver the desired results.

Test and troubleshoot queries and views to meet performance standards as well as test resulting reports to assure data and reporting integrity.

Communicate clearly with database administrators to accomplish report and SQL coding approval and reviews.

Create and maintain report specifications and documentation.

Administers reporting portal for delivery of reports to end users and maintains the report structure and user access rights therein.

Maintain existing reports to fix reported bugs, implement requested enhancements, or account for
underlying data or data structure changes.

Serve as escalated support to HelpDesk for reporting questions and issues.

Maintain and adhere to the report development policies and procedures including but not limited to proper access authorization, new report and change approvals from the business owner, keeping backups of all report versions and sql code and testing and sign-off approvals from the business owner.

Interface with outside support services for all reporting tools which are under support contracts.

Recommend, plan and perform reporting systems upgrades and patches along with the database administrators.

Work with business owners on periodic report audits to streamline and consolidate the reporting portfolio.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED required, BA/BS degree in Business or Computer Science desired, 3-5 years of experience in SQL programming language, No less than 2 years hands on experience with Microsoft PowerBI, Experience with Crystal Reports and Microsoft applications and operating systems.

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS: Knowledgeable regarding current available technology solutions and proficient in Microsoft applications.

Working knowledge of a SQL data warehouse as well as structure and use of relational databases.

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server analysis and query tools.

Advanced understanding and experience with Microsoft PowerBI

Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)

PowerBI Data Sets

PowerBI Gateway

Report Development

Report Workspace administration

Working knowledge of SAP Business Objects and Crystal reports required.

Hubble reports experience is a plus, but not required

Working knowledge of relational databases

Ability to create and update SQL data objects
