Network Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to work within the IT Corporate department supporting the infrastructure teams and process improvement initiatives.

This candidate must possess experience working with key business stakeholders in functional areas such as: Finance/Accounting, Operations, and HR to collect requirements and execute business strategy.

Reporting to the Global Director, Infrastructure, the successful candidate will be a key member on a global infrastructure team that covers networking, vendor management and project management..

Strengths include nontechnical skills such as: understanding business need, working as a team, being a flexible and supportive SCRUM team member.

As well as technical skills such as: Planning, evaluating and implementing appropriate and economical network infrastructures and services, supporting a mainly Cisco/Meraki network, understanding documenting network deployments, configuring new network installs.

Qualifications:

5+ years' experience working with Cisco/Meraki or other tier 1 network vendor

Cisco CCNA Preferred

Expert level knowledge of network concepts (VLANS, static routing, Firewalls, VoIP, VPN)

Cloud service deployments, Azure preferred

Familiar with Windows Servers, Cisco Meraki, & Solarwinds

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle problems quickly and efficiently

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities

Ability to work a flexible schedule (nights and weekends as needed)

Experience with a global team or environment

Ability to relate courteously to people of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Key Responsibilities

Plan, evaluate and implement appropriate and economical network infrastructures and services.

Establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information and security requirements.

Maintains network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, output and latency

Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; & establishing network connections.

Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.

Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control and evaluation; maintaining documentation

Keep abreast of technology changes and industry best practice as it relates to a manufacturing environment
