Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for general ledger accountability and financial reporting as well as financial profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize and direct all activities of cost accounting function

Develop and maintain annual standard costs and ad hoc inventory costing requests. Provide analytics to interpret year over year cost drivers

Perform month-end closing activities including preparation of management reports along with supporting analytics

Support preparation of Annual Plan, quarterly and monthly forecasts

Proactively analyze variances and communicate issues and opportunities to management

Develop metrics and tracking system for major cost drivers

Define policies and procedures for all cost accounting activities

Support Development/ Project cost accounting

Review inventory for completeness and accuracy

Complete annual physical inventory and reconciliation

Support other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Industrial Engineering or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred

1-3+ years’ experience

Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment a plus

Exceptional computer skills (Microsoft Excel, SAP or similar ERP system)

Detail-oriented and well organized

Excellent communication and interaction skills

Strong analytical skills and ability to identify key drivers of financial performance, particularly in a manufacturing environment
