Job Description

The Citrix Engineer is responsible for delivering and supporting the virtualized desktop computing platform.

The Citrix Engineer is responsible for:

Key responsibilities include working closely with Sr. team members on designing and managing Citrix environments, including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, XenMobile, and AppSense with an emphasis on image management utilizing Citrix PVS.

Must have extensive experience in large-scale Citrix environments, where reliability and performance were paramount.

Extensive experience and empahsis on Netscalers

Extensive experience with VDI

Experience with Microsoft App-V and/or other application delivery solutions.

Effectively identify, research, and resolve any defects within a given application, and manage communication and interaction with application vendors for issue resolution.

Rely upon previous technical / platform (Windows and Citrix) knowledge and possess keen internet research abilities to perform tasks efficiently is a must in this role.

Assist junior engineers with support of enterprise applications and software in the various end-user environments (i.e., local operating system, Citrix, and mobility).

Responsible for researching and testing solutions to technical issues, including using scripting methods to automate where possible.

Assist with resolution of escalated incidents and participate in problem management activities.

Work in concert with other members of the IT Department to solve more complex user technical problems related to desktop computing and applications.

Participate in cross-functional team projects to implement new or updated technology.

Technical Skills

Expert knowledge of desktop virtualization technologies.

Citrix: XenApp, XenDesktop, XenMobile, HDXInsight, NetScaler, Storefront, PVS

Microsoft: Windows Server, Power Shell, Active Directory, GPOs, App-V

VDI

AppSense: Roaming profiles and mandatory profiles, AppSense DesktopNow product suite

VMware

Scripting skills are a must in VBScript or PowerShell

AirWatch/XenMobile skillset

Mware ESX Server (VMware Infrastructure 3.x)

• VMware Virtual Center

• VMware HA

• VMware DRS

• VMware-related LAN technologies (VLANs, NIC teaming/bonding,

Qualifications

4-year degree preferred

Financial services experience

Relevant industry certification is highly regarded
