Job Description
IT VENDOR MANAGER
An established and growing tech-focused firm is actively seeking an experienced IT Vendor Manager to join their team.
As the IT Vendor Manager, you will be the person on the team directly responsible for enterprise-level IT vendor contracts and will be focused on managing and negotiating with those vendors to expand the relationships and incentives offered.
Having a background working in a SaaS environment is crucial to this role.
The ideal IT Vendor Manager will have over 10 years experience within IT procurement and/or IT category management.
SaaS negotiation expertise, having a strategic vision with vendors and having an influential voice are essential to be successful.
Seeking an inspired leader with an entrepreneurial spirit and a pride in ownership to come in and make their mark within the organization.
This is a highly visible and collaborative role and excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop and implement an indirect category strategy around existing IT vendor contracts to achieve functional and business objectives
Should have strategy to work with the established suppliers to get visibility for incentives
Must have SaaS services negotiation experience as well as experience supporting traditional IT
Experience managing/negotiating contracts with at least 2 of the following: Microsoft (Azure), Workday, Salesforce, etc., i.e. expanding relationships with those firms and understand the different incentives offered by each vendor.
Define sourcing strategies across multiple categories based on Indirect Sourcing policy by developing and driving sourcing initiatives, including all key steps in full life cycle sourcing
Ensure supplier management strategies are implemented optimally by monitoring KPIs, Terms and Conditions, Supplier Contracts and Supplier Risk Assessments
Collaborate with the team and cross-functional partners on factors affecting costs such as industry and technology trends, geo-political influences, up steam and related market cost reduction opportunities
Develop and deliver category reporting and presentations for senior leadership and advise on strategy
Ensure team cultivates and manages supplier relationships to optimize business value
Serve as lead for critical partnerships and projects, focused on business alignment and ensuring cost efficiencies
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending professional conference, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications
Ability to travel 25% of the time, primarily nationally
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
7+ years in IT Procurement, IT Category Management or Indirect Sourcing across numerous categories and commodities; 3+ years experience with developing Sourcing strategies based on data analytics
2 most recent years experience must be working within IT and directly managing vendor relationships
80% of your previous role must be focused on enterprise-level vendor relationship management
SaaS experience is required
Previous professional experience managing/negotiating with Microsoft (Azure), Workday, or Salesforce is required
Commanding knowledge and Application of Value Stream Mapping, Total Cost of Ownership, Outsourcing/Off-Shoring, Suppler Diversity & Sustainability/Regulatory compliance (GDPR and CCPA)
Ability to work in a matrixed environment
Ability to effectively communicate with C-Suite executives
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with SAP, ARIBA desired
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
