Embedded Systems Engineer

12 Month Contract to Hire

Colorado Springs

Looking to work with colaborative team of engineers building mobile hardware accessories, applications, and Cloud-based solutions? Our staff and customer base continues to grow, and as a result, we are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to assist both our clients as well as our own team.

What You'll Do

Create KST Products

Author new firmware that drives System-on-a-Chip and Microcontroller based products

Support existing products through improvements, bug fixes, and adding new features based on product roadmaps

Determine and drive the best way to modularize our code

Help create new products based on your own ideas and usage of our technology

Provide KST Services

Author new application firmware that, in some cases, utilizes KST platform-level Software Development Kits

Create and execute regression test plans

Meet with customers to help create design requirements documentation

Support existing clients through firmware improvements, bug fixes, and future improvements as driven by our customers

Work to improve our existing Covalence Mobile and Web Platform as well as Unity Hardware and Firmware Platform to better serve our modular product development philosophy

With the assistance of other KSTers, create battery models that predict Internet-of-Things product performance in the field

Innovate with other KSTers, including Hardware, Embedded Linux, iOS, Android, UI/UX, and

Mechanical Engineers, to holistically build products that improve lives and change the world

Qualifications:

BS or MS Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Field

Experience with Embedded C and Microcontrollers

Love working in a collaborative and dynamic work environment with colleagues and customers

Self-motivation and prioritization skills

Qualifications: Want's

Interest in a second Internet-of-Things related skillset: hardware, mobile apps, etc.

Prior background in Nordic Semiconductor products: nRF52 & nRF91 Series

Prior background in ST Microelectronics MCUs: STM32F and STM32L Series

Prior background in mobile app development: Android and/or iOS

Familiarity with basic Test and Measurement Instrumentation: oscilloscopes, supplies, etc.

Familiarity with common protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, BLE, WiFi, LoRa, Cat-M1, NB-IoT, etc.
