Job Description

Medical Software Applications Specialist is an employee who enhances the clinical workflow experience by cultivating a problem solving IT environment.

This employee provides the tools for expert software utilization by the clinical team.

The specialist is expected to present a positive, helpful persona to all providers of the practice and enhance the patients' clinical experience. Key functions/ attributes are:

SuperUser knowledge of the medical EMR (currently Exscribe)

Ability to dissect a problem and facilitate the desired outcome

Ability to process a tech service ticket and follow through to completion

Knowledge of our practice specialty and medical terminology

Ability to instruct staff how to optimize software utilization

Ability to onboard new employees

Expert knowledge of clinical workflows

Expert knowledge of Compliance and Security

Elevated Technical knowledge of the software programs and ability to handle a variety of data problems personally

Experience in developing Meaningful Use and PQRS data sets and delivering successful reporting

Knowledge of MIPS/Macra program and the ability to develop a strategy for success

SuperUser knowledge of the Patient Management system (Allscripts)

Technical Knowledge of the PACs system to aid problem-solving

Familiarity with cutting-edge technology tools and their utilization potential in the
Practice (tablets, smart phones, cloud)

Embraces continuous improvement and the Practices' Guiding Principles

Honors time and attendance rules

Performs tasks to assist the practice as requested

Required background: Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline, practice experience in delivering qualified data to CMS. Microsoft Office expertise (reporting skills in Word or Excel).

Preferred background: Communication or computer science
