Desktop Support Technician:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Establish and maintain a globally deployed, supported and flexible desktop infrastructure that includes;

o Optimized images with necessary language support.

o Centrally managed licensing compliance.

• Research and review emerging technologies as it pertains to desktops and users for possible use.

• Create and maintain detailed documentation of Desktop infrastructure, processes and procedures.

• Record & Maintain documentation of issues with their resolutions.

• Plan and perform hardware and software upgrades, including collaborating with clients and other Information Systems staff to coordinate the multiple tasks needed to complete projects such as large scale system upgrades.

• Analyze and resolve job tickets regarding desktop hardware and software issues by determining the root cause and making necessary changes to settings.

• Install software and hardware for clients and senior leaders, and maintain documentation for installation instructions, licensing information, and inventory control.

• Deploy desktops and laptops with the current operating system (Windows or Mac) and relevant software for the client. Configure user specific settings, which include software settings and peripheral devices.

• Provide 2nd/3rd level software/hardware support for 8,000+ PCs/Laptops/Mobile Devices.

• Develop and maintain a standard system configuration for all workstations and laptops and an automated OS installation using SCCM (Windows 7) and Casper Suite (Mac OSX).

• Develop, test, distribute, and document automated software installations. Deploy software packages using SCCM and Casper Suite.

• Ensure that conference room equipment is in good working order by contacting external sources for maintenance and replacement parts, implementing energy saving practices, and ordering new equipment when necessary.

• High-level technical knowledge of current technology systems (hardware, software, OS, etc.)

• Solid knowledge of networks, including experience with routers, hubs, Ethernet, TCP/IP

• Ability to collaborate with others to effectively solve problems

• Ability to schedule, audit and deploy all types of hardware involved with the organization inclusive of desktops, notebooks and printers

• Capable of involvement in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases, ensuring they are in accordance with established direction and standards

• Ability to lift computer equipment

COMPUTER SKILLS

• OS/Applications – MS Windows 7/8.1 Enterprise, Desktop – MS Office 2010/2013

• Technical knowledge of Lenovo laptops, desktops, and thin clients and Microsoft Surface devices

• Solid knowledge of general networking concepts
