Network Vulnerability Analyst (Hines, IL)

Position Overview:

The Network Vulnerability Analyst will work within a virtual lab to conduct tests related to security events and security incidents to identify targeted weaknesses within a federal client network that indicate potential areas of compromise.

The Analyst will work specifically with Palo Alto firewalls to recommend and implement technical resolutions to identified weaknesses and generally provide recommendations for further mitigation based upon an assessment of security risks to the enterprise.

The Analyst will conduct malware analyses and will participate in cyber forensic activities to identify and prioritize potential threats to the network environment.

The Analyst will also complete and deliver complex security reports for both technical and non-technical managers, along with recommendations to enhance the security of the network environment.

The Analyst will use IT security tools to conduct vulnerability assessments and grow into the role of analyzing and assessing malware within the network environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline or field. (8 additional years of relevant work experience can be replaced for an undergraduate degree)

5 years of experience using IT security tools in a virtual lab or VMware environment to identify, analyze, and assess threats and trends occurring within an enterprise network environment.

Well versed in federal IT security requirements.

Experience configuring and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls.

Expertise in the use and application of federal enterprise IT security tools such as Nessus and Wireshark.

Ability to work on-site in a federal client environment full-time.

Desired Skills:

Demonstrated experience within a federal environment developing threat intelligence, to include organizing data, reviewing indicators, and prioritizing threats.

Ability to directly interface in both a technical and non-technical manner with federal clients. Exceptional client and personal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write clearly and effectively.

Experience working collaboratively and within a team environment.

Ability to understand "big picture” project goals, and to identify and resolve key issues to achieve associated milestones.

Experience managing multiple tasks concurrently and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
