SharePoint Development Lead

Denver, CO

The Sharepoint Development Lead will play a key role in leading a team of Sharepoint developers in the configuration, development, remediation and support of a critical initiatives related to the upgrade and data migration of a global commercial software product.

You will be part of a cross-discipline team (including Engineering, Architecture, Product, Quality Assurance and Dev Ops) in the migration of Fortune 500 clients from a legacy Web CMS platform to Sharepoint 2016, including the tactical planning, porting and upgrading of code where necessary, plus server installation, proprietary third-party integrations, configuration, administration and load/performance profiling and tuning.

Responsibilities:

- Partner and help guide team members and subject matter experts in the planning, impact analysis and approach definition to upgrading configuration and CMS elements including but not limited to customized code, sites, pages, web parts, layouts, etc.

- Act as a working SharePoint Development Lead in the upgrade from Sharepoint 2010 to Sharepoint 2016 with the

- Proven ability to prototype, triage, and remediate any gaps that may be exposed due to porting to the 2016 platform.

- Facilitate and/or participate in functional and technical solution reviews with management, developers, Product and Dev Ops representatives.

- Perform specific configurations to the upgraded platform with the ability to enable or disable certain features, as defined by the Product Manager.

- Trusted advisor to other team members regarding Sharepoint 2016 and structural and functional differences from Sharepoint 2010, as well as efficient best practices and pitfall avoidance related to your history of Sharepoint migrations.

- Support our DevOps team in the design and build of production and non-production Sharepoint 2016 environments.

- Support our quality assurance team in their multi-faceted testing approach including comparison and load/performance testing, adhering to acceptable performance benchmarks.

- This role will be a "working leader "... 90% of this role will be doing hands on technical work but we need candidates that can also be the lead for this group (i.e. communicating with the engineers and QA groups, act as the liazon with other groups and leadership, etc…).



Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree

- Candidates for this role must have experience previously leading a team (even a smaller team).

- 6+ years of strong, hands-on experience in Sharepoint (Sharepoint 2010 and Sharepoint 2016) development, migration and integration.

- Must have SharePoint migration experience ideally from 2010 to 2016.

- 3+ years of experience working in the capacity of a Development Team Lead or hands-on technical manager.

- 6+ years of experience with .NET/C#, ASP.NET, MVC and WCF.

- Ability to provide examples of Sharepoint upgrade experience.

- Applied knowledge of existing techniques and tools (e.g. Microsoft, Sharegate, Metalogix, etc.) related to upgrading from 2010 to 2016, including key understanding of deprecation, data model differences, moving structured and unstructured data, etc.

- Experience with SharePoint’s Services Application framework including implementation, configuration, search, managed metadata and user profile services.

- Proficient in the design, development and remediation of custom components like Web Parts, Event Handlers, etc.

- Experience working with a common Sharepoint platform and integrated code base combined with heavy one-off client customizations.

- Ability to profile, diagnose and debug highly complex code, including performance tuning in the support of high volume, high availability requirements.

- Experience using source control management tools such as GIT and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).

- Experience working with collaboration and issue tracking tools such as Confluence and JIRA.

- Excellent team management and organizational skills, multitasking ability and proven problem solving and decision making techniques.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, including providing current team progress status, challenges and solutions.

- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment.

- Strong work ethic is a must.

- Proactive: Must be willing to seek out information and solutions that are pertinent to your responsibilities and key to delivery.

- Team player attitude with a focus on the success of the team is a MUST.



Preferred:

- Experience developing applications requiring internationalization and localization for global markets is preferred.
