THIS IS A HOUSTON ROLE WITH FULL RELOACTION

Head of Infrastructure (Americas)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a Senior Leadership position within a Global Financial Organization.

This position will be an integral part of both Regional and Global Leadership functions, with staff based across 8 offices within North America.

Management: 50-60 indirect

Travel: 1-2 times/quarter

Annual Budget: 30-40M

We are looking for someone coming from the financial industry who can help drive the business and who has extensive experience managing at a regional level.

Role Description

There are two aspects to the role, the first is to manage the daily activities of IT operations and IT services for the Americas region, build a high performing team that has a culture of close client engagement and process improvement, work closely with senior business stakeholders to provide technology thought leadership and a reliable communication channel for Infrastructure Technology initiatives.

The second component of the role will be as a representative for Infrastructure Technology in all aspects of the global change-the-bank (CTB) activities and will be expected to regionally lead these programs.

An example of this would be the rollout of new cloud computing initiative.

As part of this role it will be important that regional information and insight is continued to the global teams to ensure that the solutions are fit for purpose in the region.

Experience Required


The successful candidate will have a proven track record of running regional technology teams that support investment banking activities on an enterprise level.

The candidate will be comfortable operating with a high level of autonomy, meanwhile setting and tracking the appropriate KPIs for the regional team.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing teams and be outcome focused, able to represent Infrastructure Technology at the senior stakeholder level and able to articulate key technology changes, including operations, change, strategic and requirements to both technical and business leaders.

They will have a track record of building effective teams driven through the development of client focused culture.

Core responsibilities include:

Lead a regional team of Infrastructure Technology staff and Workplace/End User Computing support staff

Collaborate with and influence the global Technology team.

Identifying and leading improvement in culture, process and systems to deliver to service levels and to improve customer satisfaction (based on customer satisfaction survey results).

Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence across the
Infrastructure Technology function.

Establish current SLAs by platform, managing to Service Levels with the businesses. This includes collaborating with other service providers to establish underlying Operational Levels.

To be the senior leader "on point" for all critical incidents, ensuring the operations team are responding in a timely manner to the incident and that communication and engagement with business is effective.

To be accountable for the regional Infrastructure Technology cost base, being transparent and ensuring the business understand key cost drivers and initiatives to drive increased cost efficiency

Key skills and attributes:

The successful candidate will have both a broad and deep knowledge of technology operations with a sound foundation in financial services.

The following skills and experience are considered critical:

Strong capability in managing process driven teams;

Strong leadership skills that will be used to develop a local management pipeline;

Confidence in managing teams across all aspects of the technology stack;

Clear track record of working with global service teams and delivering tangible benefits to the organization;

Very strong communications skills, including experience in working with the most senior levels of an organization (CEO, COO, CIO, Division Heads etc).

Broad knowledge of the latest industry trends and new technologies that have the potential to provide innovative opportunities to the company.

Educational Qualifications:

The successful candidate would be expected to have a strong educational background including an undergraduate degree in a Technology related discipline (e.g. Computer Science).
